Advanced Placement Program (AP) AP is developed by the College Board for students to enter top universities in the USA and 28 other countries. It is best known for giving secondary/high school students the opportunity to earn university credits while still in secondary/high school, to save on college or university tuition, and even to graduate early from college or university. Students who participate in AP are ultimately given the responsibility to reason, analyze and understand independently. Such intellectual training inevitably helps them succeed in a college or university where these skills are essential. Benefits of the AP Programme Better chance to enter top universities With AP Exam grades, you will stand a better chance of acceptance by top USA universities like Harvard University, University of California (Berkeley), Massachusetts Institute of Technology, etc. Local universities like National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, and Singapore Management University may grant admission and advanced credits for students with good grades from AP exams. Earn university credits/advanced standing AP offers you a head start by giving you an opportunity to earn university credits or advanced placement. This will enable you to graduate earlier from university and thus save costly overseas university fees. Through AP, it is possible to earn anywhere from 3 credits to one year of college credit and even as much as 2 years' credit. AP grades more useful then IB and G.C.E.
